Today I got reminded what my dad used to say. Back in the time when we were kids, he used to teach us the word of God. On that day he was teaching us about the life of Jesus Christ. This was how he put it "When Jesus Christ was on earth this was how he walked one step patience and the other self-control, one step patience and the other self-control, one step patience and the other self-control..."
As followers of Christ this road we are called to walk on is the walk of Faith. What does this really mean? It means when we have faith in God and trust him, we wait on him which requires patience. When we try to be that our emotions and our thoughts kind of try to take control of our head that's why it requires self-control. So ya lacking this is what misleads us from running on the track.
"Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11: 1)
