More than ever, we are living in a time where our differences have a bigger place more than what unites us together. We value the things that divides us, so we chose them over what made us come together on the first place. so, to preserve this diversity we are willing to do what it takes even to the point it crushes our harmony.
Lately all we have been hearing power of being uniqueness to the point we have finally lost the beauty of togetherness. The things that sparked love and compassion are long lost gone. Here we are standing like a mannequin breathless and lifeless pretending to be alive and breathing. We no longer care for the person next to us as long us our needs are fulfilled. But no, the human need is like a never-ending cycle. We will long for even more and more, so we don’t have the time to even look at the one next to us let alone stretch out a helping hand.
We have a long list of reasons to say we have every reason to do what we do. But all the lists focus on us and the entities we associate with and never about anyone who is outside of that circle. Just like how you feel all the pain and feel hurt, just like how the whole world crushes all around you breaking you into pieces that person also went through all that hell. Because we both know what it is like to be hurt and broken. This life is a heartbreaking and tiring journey for both of us. If we could just set aside our differences and just talk, we would find more things that brings us together. You don’t know what it is like to be me, nor do I know you in that level, but we are the same in different kinds of ways. If we could just try a little to show compassion even when we are hurting, try to show grace even if when we have every good reason to throw a stone it would have been eased the pain because we are giving ourselves a break by doing so.
Always let us keep in mind whether we like it or not you need me, and I need you to win over the darkness that is the reason for all our sorrow.
If I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash each other’s feet. I did this as an example so that you should do as I have done for you” (John 13:14–15)
“Jesus washes our feet for two reasons. The first is to give us mercy; the second is to give us a message, and that message is simply this: Jesus offers unconditional grace; we are to offer unconditional grace. The mercy of Christ preceded our mistakes; our mercy must precede the mistakes of others. Those in the circle of Christ had no doubt of his love; those in our circles should have no doubts about ours. What does it mean to have a heart like his? It means to kneel as Jesus knelt, touching the grimy parts of the people we are stuck with and washing away their un-kindnesses with kindness. Or as Paul wrote, “Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ” (Eph. 4:32).”
